Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Mechanical Engineer specializing in Product Development to join their fully remote team, based remotely to serve operations in Glasgow . You will be instrumental in bringing new products to market, from ideation through to successful launch, working on diverse and challenging projects. This role is perfect for a creative thinker with a strong technical foundation who thrives in a virtual collaborative environment and is passionate about creating user-centric, high-performance mechanical solutions. You will be a key contributor to our product roadmap, driving innovation from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the mechanical design aspects of new product development projects, from concept generation to final product release.
• Develop and refine mechanical designs using advanced CAD software , ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct thorough engineering analysis, including thermal, structural, and vibration simulations, to validate designs.
• Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams, including product management, electrical engineering, and supply chain, to ensure project success.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test procedures.
• Support the manufacturing and testing phases, troubleshooting design issues and implementing necessary modifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.
