Mechanical Engineer - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent , focusing on the renewable energy sector. This role is critical in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for sustainable energy solutions, such as wind turbines or solar power infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for renewable energy applications using CAD software .
• Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure the performance and durability of designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and project managers to integrate mechanical systems with control and power generation units.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Support the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed systems in the field.
• Research and recommend new materials, technologies, and design methodologies to improve system efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools (FEA).
• Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science principles.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, geothermal) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
