Mechanical Engineer - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding renewable energy division in Derby . This role is critical for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems used in renewable energy technologies, such as wind turbines or solar power systems. You will be involved in conceptual design, detailed engineering, and supporting the manufacturing and installation phases of key projects. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for renewable energy applications, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using CAD software and analysis tools.
• Conduct performance analysis, stress calculations, and feasibility studies for new designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and project managers, to integrate mechanical solutions.
• Support manufacturing and assembly processes, troubleshooting issues and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Contribute to research and development efforts to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of renewable energy systems in Derby .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, mechanics, and manufacturing processes relevant to energy systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations within the renewable energy sector.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
