Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative product development team, operating on a fully remote basis with presence across the UK including Bradford . You will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, from concept generation to detailed design and testing of novel mechanical solutions. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team of engineers, designers, and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems for new product introductions, using CAD software.
• Conduct performance, structural, and thermal analysis to ensure designs meet all functional and safety requirements.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the development and production phases.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, ideally within a product-focused industry.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Inventor, Fusion 360) and basic simulation tools.
• Understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently and proactively.
• Excellent communication skills suitable for a remote working environment.
