Job Description
We're recruiting experienced Field Supervisors for a major refinery shutdown project at Fawley Refinery, Southampton (SO45 1TX). This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanical supervisor / piping supervisor with strong industrial maintenance experience to lead piping, welding and rigging teams on a high-profile turnaround project.
⚠️ Start Date: 14/09/2026.
Our Field Supervisors will work on a 10-week assignment offering 60 hours per week, competitive rates, and lodge support for non-local workers.
The Role
Working as part of the refinery shutdown / turnaround team, duties will include:
Supervising and coordinating daily activities of foremen, pipefitters, welders, riggers, semi-skilled operatives and helpers
Providing on-site technical guidance and leadership to field teams
Monitoring piping installation and mechanical activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards
Enforcing site HSE requirements and promoting a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and audits
Supporting labour, material and equipment planning to ensure efficient project delivery
Coordinating with site management and quality teams to resolve technical and construction issues
Maintaining accurate records of progress, manpower utilisation and material usageRequirements
Technical Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a recognised mechanical trade qualification
Demonstrable experience within mechanical and / or piping maintenance environments as a Supervisor, Chargehand or Lead role
Strong knowledge of piping installations and industrial maintenance activities in a COMAH Tier 1 environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics and, job packs and technical documentation
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate site teams under demanding schedules
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Previous refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, energy shutdown / turnaround experience would be highly advantageousApply Now
