About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join their established installation and maintenance team in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and install mechanical components, machinery, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults, including issues with bearings, gears, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, grinders, and welding equipment, safely and effectively.
• Ensure all fitted components are correctly aligned, lubricated, and secured.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company procedures during all maintenance and installation activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar assembly and maintenance role.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in using workshop machinery and hand/power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.
• Knowledge of different types of mechanical components and their functions.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A commitment to safety and a methodical approach to work.
