About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join their established installation and maintenance team in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This hands-on role involves the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently. You will be working across various industrial sites and workshops, contributing to the smooth operation of machinery essential to our client's operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install mechanical components, machinery, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults, including issues with bearings, gears, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, grinders, and welding equipment, safely and effectively.
- Ensure all fitted components are correctly aligned, lubricated, and secured.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company procedures during all maintenance and installation activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar assembly and maintenance role.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using workshop machinery and hand/power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.
- Knowledge of different types of mechanical components and their functions.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to safety and a methodical approach to work.
