Mechanical Fitter | Site Engineer
UK - Site-Based Customer Premises | Office Based in Willand | £33,000-£39,000 per annum | 40 Hours per Week | Monday-Friday | Permanent
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter / Site Engineer to join a field service team based in Willand.
You'll work predominantly off-site at customer locations, assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
Travel time is paid, with a company van and fuel card provided. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, with the opportunity to work across different customer sites rather than being workshop-based.
What We Offer
£33,000-£39,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Overtime available, with no regular weekend or night work.
Company van and fuel card provided for work use.
Private use can be discussed.
Paid travel time from home to the first job.
Pension.
Holiday allowance.
Key Duties
Build and install mechanical systems, structures and industrial equipment on customer sites, working to specifications and deadlines.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance to keep machinery running efficiently and minimise downtime.
Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on industrial equipment, including bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, conveyors and pumps.
Read and work from engineering drawings to construct, install and modify mechanical systems and structures.
Work safely on customer sites, following permits and RAMS and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Complete job sheets and service reports and highlight any issues or recommendations to the client.
Requirements
Proven experience in assembly, installation and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment.
Strong mechanical fitting skills, including fitting, alignment, fault diagnosis and use of hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - essential for installing systems correctly.
Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently on site.
Full UK driving licence - essential due to the travel requirements. No points preferred for insurance purposes.Desirable Experience:
Experience constructing mechanical systems and structures from scratch.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Previous field service or Site Engineer experience.
Welding skills or a fabrication background.
