Job Description
Job Title: Mechanical Fitter – Wastewater Treatment
Summary
Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in wastewater treatment plants, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, maintain, and repair pumps, valves, pipework, and rotating equipment
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Support shutdowns, inspections, and fault finding
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards
* Complete maintenance reports and documentation
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter (ideally in water/wastewater or industrial environments)
* Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, valves, and pipe systems
* Ability to read technical drawings
* Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
* CSCS card (preferred for site-based roles)
Desirable
* Experience with water utilities such as Thames Water
* Confined space training
* Experience in MEICA environments
