Mechanical Fitter

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in switchgear, electrical distribution equipment and associated assemblies.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and fitting of switchgear units, electrical enclosures, panels and associated components.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Mechanical assembly of switchgear units, cabinets, frames and enclosures Fitting components including busbar supports, brackets, panels, mechanisms and internal assemblies Working from mechanical drawings, assembly drawings and engineering instructions Drilling, tapping, cutting, filing and general bench fitting Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment Installing mechanical components accurately to specification Carrying out basic modifications and adjustments where required Inspecting completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met Working closely with electrical fitters, wiremen and production engineers Following company health & safety and quality procedures The Ideal Candidate:

Previous mechanical fitting or assembly experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment Experience working from engineering or technical drawings Good practical knowledge of hand and power tools Experience with drilling, tapping and general mechanical assembly A strong eye for detail and good workmanship The ability to work independently and as part of a production team Click apply now for more information
