About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Fitter to join their established manufacturing team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the optimal functioning of our production lines and facilities. This is a hands-on position that requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of mechanical systems, offering a stable career within the industrial sector of Staffordshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment and machinery according to specifications and blueprints.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they impact production.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, ensuring minimal downtime for production machinery.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics to guide assembly and repair processes.
• Operate workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with other engineering and production staff to ensure seamless workflow and problem resolution.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar mechanical assembly/maintenance role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and tools.
• Experience with welding, grinding, and operating various machine shop equipment is advantageous.
• A commitment to safety and adherence to all site regulations.
• Located in or willing to relocate to the Stoke-on-Trent area.
