Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business.
This role will involve the mechanical assembly, installation and fitting of large-scale industrial machinery and equipment. You will be working from engineering drawings and technical instructions to build, assemble and install mechanical components to a high standard.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
Mechanical assembly and fitting of large industrial machinery and equipment
Working from engineering drawings, assembly instructions and technical specifications
Fitting mechanical components including shafts, bearings, motors, gearboxes and other assemblies
Using a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
Carrying out installation, alignment and adjustment of mechanical components
Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults where required
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards
Working safely and following all health and safety procedures
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Fitter, Assembly Fitter or similar
Experience working on large industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment or heavy mechanical assemblies
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong mechanical fitting and assembly skills
Experience using a variety of hand and power tools
Experience fitting components such as bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes and mechanical assemblies
A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
The ability to work independently as well as part of a teamThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established engineering environment and work on large-scale machinery and equipment
