About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal operational status of their manufacturing facilities in Stoke-on-Trent . This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of all mechanical systems and machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring a safe working environment. This is a key position within the operations team, contributing directly to the company's productivity and success through robust equipment upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies related to maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on output.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with welding and fabrication is advantageous.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
