About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic operations team in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is vital for ensuring the continuous operation and efficiency of our manufacturing plant by maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial machinery. You will be responsible for implementing proactive maintenance strategies and responding effectively to breakdowns, working collaboratively with electrical engineers and production staff. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for a dedicated engineer who is passionate about maintaining high operational standards and contributing to a safe and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective long-term solutions.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work order management and asset tracking.
- Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on output.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for fault finding.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering) is advantageous.
