Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their industrial operations in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all mechanical plant and equipment. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing and rectifying faults, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will play a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on a variety of mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to a high standard.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, working efficiently to restore operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

• Qualified with an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade qualification.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical power transmission systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a significant advantage.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety.
