We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established industrial manufacturing business based in Kendal. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organisation that invests heavily in its people through training, development and clear progression opportunities. The business is open-minded regarding background and qualifications, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or a strong Mechanical Fitter with transferable skills. The Package Salary up to £42,000 (typically around £40,000) Overtime available and paid at 1.5x rate Monday to Friday operation Structured training and development programmes Genuine progression opportunities Stable and secure industrial environment Long-term career prospects Shift Pattern Rotating 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday: Week 1: 5am-6am start Week 2: 8am-9am start Week 3: 11am start Week 4: 3pm start The business expects to phase out the 11am shift in the future. Weekend overtime is typically available one weekend in every 3 to 4 weeks and is paid at time and a half. The Role As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer , you will play a key role in maintaining site reliability and ensuring production equipment operates efficiently. Responsibilities will include: Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs Mechanical fault finding Equipment inspections Continuous improvement activities Supporting production and operational teams Identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability What We're Looking For The hiring manager is keen to speak with candidates who have strong mechanical experience gained within manufacturing, industrial, production or engineering environments.
