Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays
Overtime: Available
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Hatfield – Up to £45,000
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday position with excellent company benefits, a strong private pension scheme, overtime opportunities and genuine training and progression prospects.
You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of building services and mechanical systems, ensuring equipment and facilities remain safe, reliable and operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
* Maintain and service a range of mechanical building services equipment.
* Work on pumps, valves and associated mechanical systems.
* Maintain and fault-find on boilers and chillers.
* Maintain calorifiers, FCUs and AHUs.
* Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and to a high standard.
* Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation.
* Work proactively to identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure.
* Support the wider engineering and facilities team when required.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will ideally have:
* Previous experience within a mechanical maintenance or building services environment.
* Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
* Experience working with pumps, valves, boilers, chillers, calorifiers, FCUs and AHUs.
* A good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A professional and proactive approach to maintenance.
* Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications would be advantageous.
