Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their operational team in Bristol, South West England, UK . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of mechanical systems within our production facility. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of machinery, playing a key role in maintaining productivity and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings , blueprints, and equipment manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely in the Bristol facility.
• Assist with the installation of new mechanical equipment and systems as required.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures, promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Fitter in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and seals.
• Proficiency in using workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and understand technical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and safe working practices in South West England .
