Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their industrial operations team based in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of manufacturing plant machinery, minimizing downtime, and upholding safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance activities, from routine servicing to complex repairs. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance , and emergency repairs on a variety of industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and general mechanical systems.
• Install and commission new equipment, ensuring proper alignment and operational readiness.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent using the company's CMMS.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies during maintenance operations.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations in Coventry .

Requirements

• Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in an industrial maintenance engineering role, preferably within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in identifying and repairing faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems .
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of health and safety best practices in an industrial setting.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in West Midlands .
