Location: Holborn, London Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday – Friday, split shift Shift Pattern: 7:00am–4:00pm / 10:00am–7:00pm Call-Out Rota: 1 in 3 weeks Standby Allowance: £100 per week Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our facilities management team based in Holborn, London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer looking to work within a professional, well-established environment, with excellent opportunities for training, development and career progression.

Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of the building's mechanical services and plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently and safely.

• Undertake preventative maintenance in line with the planned maintenance schedule.

• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns.

• Carry out inspections and ensure plant and equipment remains fully operational.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed works.

• Work closely with other engineers, contractors and the wider facilities team.

• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant health & safety procedures.

• Participate in the 1 in 3 call-out rota, with a £100 standby payment.

• Support the wider engineering team when required.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification or relevant experience.

• Previous experience working within a commercial building, facilities management or critical environment.

• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.

• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to reactive issues.

• A strong commitment to health & safety and compliance.

• Flexibility to participate in the call-out rota.
