Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their industrial team in Stoke-on-Trent . You will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of all mechanical equipment and machinery within the manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to maintenance, working on-site to keep production running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Install, test, and commission new mechanical systems and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures during maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with production teams to schedule maintenance work with minimal disruption.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.
• Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship is advantageous.
