Working within the mechanical team to maintain all plant machinery including both proactive planned maintenance and breakdown repair. General Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely applying specialist craft skills for the assembly, dismantling, inspection repair and testing of mechanical equipment
• Reading and understanding construction drawings, designs and system schematics to assess equipment, or systems performance and evaluate the cause of any malfunction. Effect necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Carrying out breakdown and planned maintenance tasks
• Receiving Instructions from the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Reliability Technician, or from planned lists/MTAS to undertake project and maintenance work on the shift in conjunction with fitters and other operations/engineering personnel.
• Supporting a reliability centred maintenance approach to identifying and undertaking maintenance tasks on major process assets
• Ensuring product quality by managing throughput issues in the execution of maintenance and improvement works
• Reporting works completed on the site CMMS systems
• Responding to site emergencies to recover/restore production in a timely manner
• Assisting in the training and development of other members of the team and apprentices Essential to the role
• Essential – Time Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering NVQ level 3
• A grounding in mechanical xwwtmva engineering ideally gained through a formal apprenticeship
• Established skills in general fitting, welding, machining, construction, installation and maintenance

• Knowledge of the use of precision measurement equipment and instrumentation
• An understanding of the use of hydraulics systems
• An understanding of codes and symbols used in drawings for mechanical and hydraulic schemes
• Computer literacy (ideally conversant in the use of CMMS) and basic office software
