Mechanical Project Engineer - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and execute key projects within the renewable energy sector , supporting operations near Edinburgh . This role involves overseeing the mechanical aspects of renewable energy installations, from initial design and planning through to commissioning and handover. You will work closely with diverse teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the mechanical engineering aspects of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, or hydro power.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for mechanical systems integration.
• Oversee the design, procurement, and installation of mechanical components and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and ensure project progress.
• Conduct site inspections, performance monitoring, and post-project reviews to identify lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering project management, ideally within the renewable energy field .
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems relevant to power generation and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with site visits in and around Edinburgh .
