About the Role
Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and oversee various engineering projects from inception to completion in their Glasgow facility. This role requires a blend of technical engineering knowledge and strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be the key point of contact for project stakeholders, coordinating with design teams, suppliers, and clients to achieve project success. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on more responsibility and manage complex engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and closing.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and installation, to ensure smooth project progression.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
- Communicate project status and key updates to stakeholders, clients, and senior management.
- Ensure all projects adhere to relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality controls.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project engineering or project management within a mechanical engineering context.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
