About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Mechanical Project Engineer to join their established team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for managing the technical aspects of mechanical engineering projects, from initial planning and design through to implementation and final handover. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on project management environment, possess strong technical acumen, and be adept at coordinating complex engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Oversee the design, procurement, and installation of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., design, manufacturing, quality) and external contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all mechanical engineering work complies with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project engineering or project management within a mechanical engineering context.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and CAD tools .
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively problem-solve under pressure.
