About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Mechanical Project Engineer to join their innovative team in Southampton . This role is ideal for an engineer who excels at managing multiple aspects of mechanical projects, from initial concept through to successful completion. You will be responsible for overseeing design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Working in a forward-thinking environment, you will collaborate with diverse teams to bring complex engineering solutions to life, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
Coordinate with design teams to develop detailed engineering plans, schematics, and specifications using CAD tools .
Oversee the procurement of materials and components, and liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Conduct site visits and inspections as required to monitor project progress and quality.
Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective solutions to overcome challenges.
Prepare regular project status reports for stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within an engineering context.
Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects from initiation to closure.
Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
