About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and execute diverse mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion in Coventry, West Midlands, UK . This role involves coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a crucial part in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management, contributing significantly to the company's reputation for delivering successful and complex engineering solutions, fostering a collaborative atmosphere within the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal engineering departments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and quality control procedures.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential issues to ensure project success.
- Prepare regular project progress reports for senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar project management role within mechanical engineering.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with site management and contractor coordination is essential for this role in Coventry .
- Proficiency in project management software and standard office applications.
