Mechanical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a progressive engineering consultancy, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Project Engineer to join their esteemed team in Belfast . This role involves managing and executing a variety of mechanical engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating technical aspects, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and driving project success through effective planning, resource management, and technical oversight, contributing to a culture of excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from planning and design to implementation and handover.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against key milestones.
• Coordinate with design teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Conduct site inspections, technical assessments, and performance monitoring of mechanical systems.
• Manage project risks, identify issues, and implement timely and effective solutions.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in project management within a mechanical engineering context.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation, and commissioning processes.
• Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
