About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Reading . This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for planning, execution, and stakeholder communication, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against these objectives.
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, manufacturing, R&D) and external suppliers/contractors.
- Ensure all mechanical engineering designs and installations comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Communicate project status, updates, and challenges to stakeholders effectively.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in project engineering or project management within a mechanical engineering context.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex mechanical projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
