Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer with experience of rotating equipment to join our client. This is a hands-on role working both in the workshop and on customer sites, with strong earning potential and opportunities for development. You will be joining a diverse and supportive team ranging from apprentices to experienced engineers. The company places strong emphasis on teamwork, trust, and health and safety, and expects a professional approach at all times from the appointed Mechanical Service Engineer.
Key responsibilities
- Reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and involves working on the service, repair, and inspection of precision engineered equipment.
- Duties include stripping, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment, carrying out site-based inspections, producing reports, interpreting engineering drawings, and using precision measuring equipment.
- The role involves both independent work and working as part of a team, with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
- This is a Monday to Friday days' based role with overtime available on a voluntary basis, typically at weekends and during peak periods.

Requirements
- Candidates should have experience working with complex precision engineered equipment (pumps, valves, heavy engineering, machine tools, special purpose machinery, etc.).
- And have been around a machine shop / traditional engineering environment, be able to read engineering drawings, and be competent using precision measuring tools.
- A solid grounding in engineering practice is essential.
- A willingness to travel and work away from home is essential, along with a full UK driving licence.
