Mechanical Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their established team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role focuses on the integration, testing, and optimisation of complex mechanical systems, ensuring they function cohesively and meet demanding performance requirements. You will work across various stages of system development, from initial specification and design reviews to final implementation and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a broad understanding of mechanical principles and a passion for ensuring system-level performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical sub-systems into larger overall systems, ensuring seamless compatibility.
• Perform system-level performance analysis, including thermal, structural, and dynamic assessments.
• Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical systems, overseeing testing and validation activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues encountered during development, testing, or production.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, software, controls) to ensure integrated system functionality.
• Document system designs, specifications, test results, and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

• BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical system design, integration, or analysis.
• Proficiency in system modelling and simulation tools , as well as standard CAD software .
• Strong understanding of control systems, mechatronics, and integration principles.
• Experience with testing methodologies and equipment for mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to engineering challenges.
