Mechanical Technician

Location: Ely (CB7) Job type: Temporary Duration: 6 weeks initially but may be extended Hours: 9.00am - 5pm, Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive Job Reference: 36286

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join a small, friendly workshop team for our client based at Ely. You will be building and refurbishing one-off and low-volume special purpose machinery.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly / fitting
• Stripping old machines
• Cleaning parts
• Identifying worn parts and sourcing suitable replacements
• General mechanical fitting work

Requirements

• Mechanical background and relevant experience
• Good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrable use of hand tools and light power tools
• General knowledge of machine wiring
• Manual machine shop experience would be advantageous
