About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Media Relations Manager to lead their public relations initiatives from their prestigious office in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic media relations plans to enhance the organization's reputation and visibility across Scotland and beyond. This senior role requires exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of the media landscape, and a proven ability to manage high-profile media interactions within the historic city of Edinburgh .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic media relations plans to achieve organizational objectives.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key media contacts across national, regional, and trade press.
• Serve as a primary spokesperson for the organization when required, delivering clear and consistent messaging.
• Manage all media inquiries, press conferences, and media events effectively.
• Oversee the creation of compelling press materials, including press releases, statements, and backgrounders.
• Monitor media coverage, analyze sentiment, and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in media relations, public relations, or journalism.
• Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage and managing complex media environments.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and crisis management capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the Scottish and UK media markets .
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
