Mental Health Assistant - Maidenhead
Are you enthusiastic about supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing? A high-quality Secondary SEN school in Maidenhead is looking for a committed, motivated, and inspiring Mental Health Assistant to join their team!
As a Mental Health Assistant, the role will include:
Providing 1:1 support for students experiencing mental health and emotional wellbeing needs
Supporting small groups with activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing
Assisting students in developing coping strategies and emotional regulation skills
Monitoring students' wellbeing and progress
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Building positive and trusting relationships with students and staff
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students' individual needsWhat we look for in a Mental Health Assistant:
Patience, empathy, and understanding
Strong communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships with young people
A genuine interest in supporting children and young people's mental health
Resilience and a calm, supportive approach
Understanding of mental health needs and inclusive practicesThis role provides invaluable experience to psychology, criminology, counselling, and other related graduates looking to build a platform to start their career working with young people.
