About the Role

Our client is recruiting a dedicated Mental Health Support Officer to join their vital services in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, empowering them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. This hybrid role allows for a balance of in-person client interaction and remote administrative duties, offering flexibility while ensuring vital support is delivered effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to clients with diverse mental health needs, both in the community and remotely.
• Assist clients with practical tasks, such as managing appointments, accessing services, and developing daily living skills.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation sessions as appropriate.
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records and contribute to care plan reviews.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and medical professionals.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring client safety and promoting well-being.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mental health support or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and support strategies.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and empathy skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and balance remote and in-person responsibilities effectively.
• Proficiency in using digital case management systems.
• Relevant qualification (e.g., Diploma in Health and Social Care) is preferred.
