About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Officer to join their established remote team, serving individuals within the Milton Keynes community. This role is crucial in providing empathetic support, guidance, and practical assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Working entirely remotely, you will connect with clients via phone, video calls, and digital platforms to help them navigate their recovery journey, access resources, and build resilience. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, offering emotional encouragement and practical advice.
- Develop and implement personalized support plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on recovery goals and coping strategies.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources, mental health services, and appropriate professional support.
- Monitor client well-being, identify potential risks, and escalate concerns to senior staff or relevant agencies as needed.
- Facilitate virtual group sessions or workshops focused on mental health awareness, coping mechanisms, and peer support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and progress reports using the organization's digital systems.
Requirements
- Experience in mental health support , counseling, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of common mental health conditions, recovery principles, and support strategies.
- Excellent active listening, empathy, and communication skills, particularly in sensitive situations.
- Proficiency in using virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and digital record-keeping software.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professional boundaries remotely.
- Knowledge of local mental health services and referral pathways within the Milton Keynes area is advantageous.
