About the Role
Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to join their team in Cambridge . This role involves providing essential support to individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions, helping them to manage their conditions and live more independent and fulfilling lives. You will work closely with clients, offering emotional support, practical assistance, and encouraging engagement in therapeutic activities and community integration. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to clients with mental health needs, fostering a trusting and therapeutic relationship.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, personal care, and managing their medication as per care plans.
- Encourage clients to participate in social activities, hobbies, and rehabilitation programmes to aid their recovery and well-being.
- Monitor clients' mental and physical health, reporting any concerns or changes to the line manager promptly.
- Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills to promote independence and reduce reliance on services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, progress, and any incidents.
Requirements
- Experience working within a mental health support setting is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or a related field, is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills, with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
- Understanding of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently, managing your workload proactively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
