About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Reading . This role focuses on providing crucial support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping them to manage their conditions, build coping strategies, and reintegrate into the community. Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and practical support to individuals with varying mental health needs, adhering to their care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care, medication management, and household chores, promoting independence.
- Encourage and support clients in engaging with community activities, social networks, and therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor clients' well-being, recognise potential risks, and report any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions, support provided, and progress made.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure integrated care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a mental health support role or similar caring profession is highly desirable.
- Understanding of various mental health conditions and recovery principles.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to show empathy and build rapport.
- Patience, resilience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
