Mental Health Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Workers to join their team in Leeds , dedicated to supporting individuals with a range of mental health conditions. You will provide essential day-to-day support, promote recovery, and assist service users in managing their well-being and achieving their personal goals. This role is vital in fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel empowered and understood. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating a positive pathway towards recovery and independence for those in our care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
• Assist service users in developing coping strategies and self-management skills.
• Support individuals in engaging with community resources, appointments, and social activities.
• Monitor and report on the mental and physical well-being of service users, escalating concerns as necessary.
• Encourage and facilitate participation in therapeutic activities and group sessions.
• Maintain clear and confidential records of support provided and client progress.

Requirements

• Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and understanding.
• Ability to remain calm and de-escalate situations effectively.
• Knowledge of mental health issues and recovery principles.
• Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care are advantageous.
