About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join their vital Community & Social Care team in Liverpool . This role is essential in providing direct support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping them to manage their conditions, improve their well-being, and enhance their quality of life. You will work within a person-centred framework, offering practical assistance, emotional encouragement, and support in accessing community resources. This position offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to the recovery and independence of individuals, working collaboratively within a professional and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic and consistent support to service users, assisting them with daily living tasks as needed.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships, offering emotional support and encouragement.
- Assist individuals in developing and following personal recovery and support plans.
- Support clients in accessing community facilities, social activities, and other services.
- Monitor and report on the well-being of service users, escalating concerns to senior staff or relevant professionals.
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy among service users, promoting their rights and choices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a mental health support setting or a related field.
- Understanding of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and supportive under pressure.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing individual responsibilities.
