The Role
As an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of Mechanical, Electrical and Trim repair activities on accident-damaged vehicles. Your ability to work across multiple areas of the repair process will be highly valued, helping to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting on accident-damaged vehicles
- Strip and refit components in accordance with manufacturer repair methods and technical procedures
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and identify the correct repair requirements
- Carry out repairs and checks relating to suspension, steering, braking and associated vehicle systems
- Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDA/Estimators and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
- Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate these effectively to the relevant team members
- Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard, with appropriate safety and quality checks carried out
- Follow manufacturer repair methods, bodyshop quality standards and Health & Safety procedures
About You
We're looking for an experienced and technically capable Multi-Skilled MET Technician who can confidently work across mechanical, electrical and trim disciplines and takes pride in delivering high-quality accident repairs.
- Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
- Strong mechanical, electrical and trim knowledge
- Experience working with modern vehicle construction and repair methods
- Strong understanding of suspension, steering and braking systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults effectively
- Experience removing, repairing and refitting a wide range of vehicle components
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently within a busy production environment
- Reliable, professional and motivated approach to work
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
