Job Description
The position of Metrology Technician is to provide resource and support of on-site metrology, calibration, CAL cover, and any other Quality Assurance tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
General
* Work in a safe manner – adhere to all Health and Safety requirements
* Comply with, and promote compliance with the Quality Management System
* Provide support when required to QA or Production activities (i.e. problem solving, training, verification activities, PPAP, Registry)
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment including organisation and storage of samples, gauges, and equipment
Metrology
* Carry out measurement of materials in a timely and accurate manner against appropriate specifications using appropriate means and methods
* Produce measurement reports and maintain traceability of measurement samples and records
* Measurement: Performs precise measurements using manual instruments and 3D scanning equipment for complex castings and forgings.
* Measurement: Performs precise measurements using manual instruments and CMM for complex machined components.
* Material Integrity: Conducts ultrasonic analysis and hardness testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, Leeb).
* Metallurgical Prep: Executes material preparation (resin mounting, lapping/polishing) and detailed microscopy analysis.
* Programming: Generates and maintains measurement programs (CMM & Opticline) for new and existing products.
Calibration & Gauge Management
* Calibration of internal gauges and measuring equipment to applicable standards
* Arrange external calibration of gauges as required
* Gauge repair/servicing internally as appropriate, whenever possible prior to requesting external intervention
Customer Acceptance Line (CAL)
* When necessary (sickness, holiday, workload), provide cover for CAL; flexibility to work shifts required.
* Working hours - (Apply online only) rotating to (Apply online only) Monday to Friday
