Business Analyst - Data Transformation Mid-Level Business Analyst | 12-Month Contract | Hybrid (2 days p/week in London office) Reference Data Transformation Programme Contract: 12 months Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in London Start: ASAP Rate: £400-£450 per day, Inside IR35
The Role
We’re looking for a Mid-Level Business Analyst to join a major data transformation programme focused on consolidating multiple reference datasets into a single strategic platform and operating model. You’ll work across Product, Data, Engineering and Operations teams, helping to define the future-state processes, capture requirements and support the migration away from multiple legacy datasets. This is a hands-on BA role, with a strong focus on data, process improvement, migration and stakeholder engagement. What you’ll be doing
- Document current and future-state processes
- Run workshops with business and technical stakeholders
- Gather and document business, functional and migration requirements
- Support the design of a new Reference Data operating model
- Map dataset dependencies and assess upstream/downstream impacts
- Develop migration plans and work with delivery teams to coordinate execution
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting documentation
- Carry out process mapping, gap analysis and impact assessments
- Support testing, validation and business readiness
- Work with stakeholders to maintain alignment and keep delivery moving What we’re looking for
- Solid Business Analyst experience within data transformation programmes
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
- Experience working with data models and data management
- Business process modelling and workflow design
- Experience supporting data migration projects
- User story creation and backlog management
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working across both technical and business teams Useful experience Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Reference Data or Master Data Management (MDM)
- CMS implementation
- Metadata management
- Data governance
- Enterprise data platforms
- Data quality What you’ll help deliver You will play a key role in helping the programme establish its future-state Reference Data model and operating processes, define migration waves and support the successful move from multiple legacy datasets to a single strategic solution
