About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Maintenance Engineer to support their operations in Cardiff . This crucial role involves ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all mining equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues, and managing a team of maintenance technicians. The successful candidate will contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency through expert maintenance strategies and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all mining equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures on heavy machinery.
- Oversee the repair and overhaul of mining equipment, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of necessary components.
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, with a strong focus on heavy industrial or mining equipment .
- Proven experience with preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
