Mine Maintenance Supervisor - Heavy Equipment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment at their operations near Cambridge . This critical role ensures the optimal performance and longevity of their mining fleet, directly impacting operational efficiency and safety. You will lead a team of experienced mechanics, implement preventative maintenance programs, and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance within the mining sector , combined with excellent leadership and organizational skills to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling and task delegation.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on excavators, trucks, loaders, and other mining machinery.
• Ensure the availability and readiness of equipment for operational needs.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities in the CMMS.
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety procedures and regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor, preferably in a mining or construction environment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across a range of heavy machinery.
• Experience with preventative maintenance strategies and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a demanding operational setting.
