About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to manage and direct all aspects of heavy equipment maintenance for their operations, working remotely. This role requires a proactive leader who can oversee a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the mining fleet. You will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance schedules, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety and operational standards. This is a key role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports our client's mining endeavors, allowing for efficient operations from a distance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians and mechanics responsible for heavy mining equipment.
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on mining machinery.
- Manage the inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical certifications in heavy equipment repair are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of mining equipment maintenance, including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and drilling rigs.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage remote teams and utilize digital tools for reporting and coordination.
