About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Mine Maintenance Supervisor to join their operations near Liverpool . You will lead a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the upkeep and repair of all mining equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. This role requires strong technical knowledge of heavy machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulic components used in mining environments. You will be responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and managing spare parts inventory. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to contribute to the reliable functioning of critical mining infrastructure in the Merseyside region, fostering a culture of diligence and proactive care for equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all mining machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in mining equipment.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement, ensuring availability of critical components.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair costs.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in a heavy industry or mining environment.
- Strong technical background in maintaining heavy mobile equipment, fixed plant, and associated systems.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with maintenance management software and inventory control.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships in mechanical or electrical engineering.
