About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and organized Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and repair of all machinery and equipment at their operations near Sheffield . This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of the mine by minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manage maintenance schedules, and ensure the availability of critical mining equipment. Your contribution will be vital to the operational efficiency and productivity of the mine, supporting the wider UK mining activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics and electricians.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all mining equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on heavy machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations during maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship or HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably within the mining industry .
• Proven experience in supervising a maintenance team.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and strategies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
