About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Mine Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day operations at their Leicester -based mining site. This critical role involves managing a diverse team, ensuring efficient production, and upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, implementing innovative mining techniques, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within a challenging but rewarding industry. This is a key leadership position requiring strategic thinking and hands-on management to achieve ambitious production targets while maintaining operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational plans to achieve production targets and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mine.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of mining professionals, supervisors, and personnel.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective deployment of all mining equipment and machinery.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with geological and engineering teams to ensure efficient extraction processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mine management and operational leadership, preferably within the mining industry .
- Strong understanding of mining techniques, equipment, and relevant safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
