About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented Mine Operations Manager to oversee and optimize operations at a key site near Birmingham . This leadership role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of mine production, including planning, resource management, personnel supervision, and adherence to strict safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mine management and a proven ability to drive operational excellence within the challenging mining industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine production plans to meet company targets.
- Manage day-to-day mining activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Supervise and mentor mine supervisors and operational staff, fostering a culture of safety and productivity.
- Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Oversee the maintenance and utilization of mining equipment and machinery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Demonstrated experience in underground or open-pit mining operations.
- Strong knowledge of mine planning, production management, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in mine planning software and operational management systems.
