Mine Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a highly capable Mine Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at their facility near Coventry, West Midlands . This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in managing large-scale mining projects, ensuring optimal production, safety, and efficiency. You will be responsible for the entire operational lifecycle, from resource extraction to processing and logistics. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, foster a strong safety culture, and manage a diverse team to achieve production targets and maintain profitability in a competitive market landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of mine operations, including drilling, blasting, hauling, and processing.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets and cost objectives.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and operational staff.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine management , with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven expertise in open-pit or underground mining operations and techniques.
• Strong understanding of mine planning software and production management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational challenges and drive efficiency gains.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
